All Black Everything

This outfit is probably one of my favourite outfits i've worn because of the sheer simplicity of it. For me, you can't beat an all black outfit so i thought i'd upload a few images that i found on tumblr that is inspo for me and my style.
  • top: Topshop
  • necklace: Velvet Rose
  • trousers: Forever 21
  • duster coat: Missguided
  • boots: Vagabond

Ripped jeans are a wardrobe essential- especially in black. I had to bag my very own pair which i purchased from Topshop and i would advise everyone to do the same. You can pair them with so many things, and can dress them up and wear with heels or play them down and wear with trainers.

I've not always been a fan of knee high boots, my love for them has only come around recently. I think heeled black leather knee high boots look extremely chic, and whats better than looking chic???

January must haves

I realise that i haven't posted since September, it's just that I've been so busy recently with starting my A levels and i totally lost track of time. Seen as it's the new year i have decided that i'm going to try and blog more frequently again. I've decided to do a January must have's and show all the things that i want to purchase before the end of January. It might be hard because i'm lacking money at the moment but i wanted to make a post anyway. I was browsing the internet and found a load of things on a ton of different sites which i fell in love with. Here's just a few things that i loved and thought i'd show.

Addiction Faux Leather Skirt

I decided to have a look on www.nastygal.com because i haven't looked in a while and i saw this skirt and fell in love. i NEED this in my wardrobe asap. I don't know what it is with me and leather recently but i have been loving it so much and this would be a great addition to my leather skirt collection ( i already have 4). I might need to stop buying them but it's hard when there is so many gorgeous ones. Surprisingly it's only £37.80 which some people might find very expensive and yes it is quite expensive but to me it's a reasonable price for the quality of the skirt and the design.

Night Stealer Crop Knit
£35.36
Another item that i found whilst browsing the nasty gal website was this knitted crop top in black. I love black. Can't get enough of it. I get asked all the time whether i own any colour and i'm like 'yeah i do actually'. I don't intentionally go and buy black items of clothing, it just sort of happens. It's not my fault if i fall in love with the item. The reason i love this top so much is because i can imagine it with a lot of my clothes i.e. jeans and skirts so i know that i would get a lot of wear out of it and wouldn't regret buying it.

The next thing that i need in my life, is the urban decay naked palette. The reason for this is because this year with my make up i want to be more adventurous and try knew things so i thought what better than eye shadow. I've had my eye on it for a while and i'm just waiting for the time i have enough money so that i can buy it. I love the richness of the colours, they look so bold and pigmented.

Wooden Heel Sandal £102- American Apparel
Sandals don't have to just be for the summer; they can be worn in winter months too. They could be paired with tights or socks. I love the socks and sandals look, i think it goes with so many things. American apparel do gorgeous shoes, so elegant and chic, i'm just waiting until i can buy my first pair. Although i can't really afford these sandals i had to put them in my January must haves because i love them too much and maybe you guys can buy them instead.

September Already

By the first week into summer i have already lost track of the date and i couldn't believe it today when someone said it was the 1st of September. It seems only 9 weeks ago that it was my last exam and summer began,so you can understand that when the realisation set in that there's only 2 days left of summer i was pretty upset. I can't actually believe HOW fast this summers gone. The expectations for this summer holiday was higher than any other, I'm not too sure why but it was. If i was to compare this summer to last summer this one would win by a mile. The reason for this is because i have actually seen my friends this summer. *laughs*

I thought that seen as i am going to be back at school in a couple of days i should probably sort out my clothes seen as i won't be wearing a uniform, which i am so happy about. I have been looking forward to ditching the school uniform for ages now and the time has finally come. It is going to be a bit weird though, waking up on a school day and putting my own clothes but i am SO excited. So, as i was sorting through my clothes i released that they aren't exactly the most colourful. This doesn't bother me though  because personally i like the minimalistic look and i prefer dark and pastel colours instead of bold bright ones for clothing. Although i do like a splash of colour so i think i should probably  to invest in some colourful things. Even though most of my clothes are quite dull colours i LOVE to wear bold coloured lipsticks. My favourite brand would have to be Kate Moss by Rimmel. I think i love this lipstick so much because the colour is so bold and the lipstick is also matte (which is my favourite).

I'm really looking forward to September has to offer and am excited for the change. I can't quite believe that i am now studying A levels; i just don't seem old enough. Plus i really hope that i will blog at least once a week. Oh and i do apologise for the image quality i am having to use my phone but i am hoping that i will get an SLR in the future.

AW13- Winter Pastels

This season's A/W has a slightly different trend to usual. Pastels aren't traditionally known for making an appearance on the runway for the colder months but it seems they have this time. We are used to always seeing pastels on the runway for S/S and this trend shows no sign of coming to a halt. Designers are going for the powder tones from spearmint to violets, lemon and sky blues, fondant pinks, bubblegum pinks and mints. I'm loving the fact that skirt-suits are making an appearance on the catwalk as seen in  collection from Simone Rocha.

Topshop Unique's Autumn/Winter collection channelled the pastel palette through the colours peachy pinks and sky blues contrasted with blood reds and blacks. I think the look of faux fur is so sophisticated and I'm glad it's made this trends runway because it really brings to life the catwalk in my opinion.

I was browsing on ASOS for some clothes when i saw an AW13 trend guide and i just had to take a look. I clicked on Winter Pastels and scrolled down to find this picture that was taken at fashion week. I was amazed by the amount of texture that i could see from these street style outfits and it just wowed me. The contrast off the faux fur navy coat with the lilac and pink  pastel skirt... it just works. I would never think of putting these outfits together but i definitely see why they did. When i first saw the catwalks for AW13 and saw the pastel colours i fell in love with this trend because (i know this sounds ridiculous and childish) pastel pinks are my favourite colour. I just think they make people look so innocent, girly and feminine and recently i think that girly has been out of the picture.

Please tell me what you think of pastels being in the AW13 collection i would love to know.

American Apparel - Tennis Skirt

Recently American Apparel Tennis Skirts have been a favourite of mine even though i don't yet own one. I don't know what it is about them that makes me love them so much but whatever it is i don't care. Who wouldn't want a Tennis skirt in there wardrobe. They look so smart with the perfectly measured pleats and the length is just right. You can't go wrong with them! I have picked these images to use because these are my favourite colours out of them all. Both black and white will go with anything and i have been loving both colours recently. I've picked the navy simply because i love the colour navy- i think it is a really smart colour and finally i chose the trueblood coloured one simply because it stands out. Although they are slightly pricey, costing £46, i am definitely going to invest in one or maybe two because they will be perfect for sixth form.

Today i went into American Apparel in Leeds and i couldn't help but try one on to see what i would look like in it. It made me want one even more, but unfortunately the one i tried on was damaged and the store didn't have another one in my size. If I'm honest i didn't particularly want to spend £46 today so i guess the store did me a bit of a favour really. However, i am still most certainly getting my hands on this skirt and i can't wait until i do.

Another reason why i love this skirt is because it never goes out of season. In spring & summer you can wear it on its own if you wish and in autumn & winter you could wear it with tights or stockings or even without if you can bare the cold weather with a jumper and/or a coat. It is such a versatile item of clothing which is why this skirt is great.

I'd love to know what your opinions are on this skirt so please comment below.

My first blog post

Hi! As you can probably see this is my first blog post and there's no doubt it's a generic 'first blog post' post because I have no idea what to write, so I guess I'll start by introducing myself. My name's Ashleigh, I'm 16 and I'm from a town called Harrogate which is near Leeds, I love it here because its not too big and it's not too small. My dad lives in London which I love because It's so different down there as to up here. I guess I've created this blog because It's something to keep me busy this summer and I've always wanted to have a blog and I thought now was the perfect time. I've finished year 11, going into year 12 in September to study my A-levels which I am SO excited about because it means I don't have to do subjects I hate. I am really lucking forward to sixth form because at my school we don't have to wear a uniform which means I can wear what I want to an extent. Even though I'm so happy to have finally ditched the school uniform, the only thing I'm worried about is being judged by what I wear. I don't know why I'm bothered by this because I know no one will pay attention to what I'm wearing, why would they, I guess it's just me being me. I love fashion and even though I love where I live I wait until I can leave the town I've lived in all my life to gain new experiences. However, I've still got two years left to go yet so I better not get ahead of myself.  I guess this is the end of my first blog post, I hope it was ok and I didn't bore you with unnecessary stuff that you probably could't care less about.
